Support
Your
Union can support AUD
Unions, union officers,
staff and members can play an important role supporting the struggle for
union democracy in the entire labor movement. One
place to start is to join AUD and support our work. There are several
ways your union can help:
- Members, officers,
and staff can Join AUD.
- Pass a resolution
to have the union make a monthly contribution
to AUD, (call it union democracy per capita!)
- Have the union
order bundles of Union Democracy Review
to distribute to members at union meetings or the union hall.
- Reprint articles
from Union Democracy Review in
union publications.
- Organize
AUD educational workshops for your members.
- Link to the
AUD website on your official union website (we will link
back to you).
- [your ideas

Thanks to the
Public Employees Federation of New York State!
Mike Keenan has retired from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
after more than 32 years as a state employee. His co-workers at the Public
Employees Federation have made a generous donation to AUD in his honor.
In the early 80's Keenan was a key leader of the State Coalition for a
Democratic Union which ousted a crooked leadership in PEF and helped turn
it into the democratic union that it is today. In all this time, he has
been active in the leadership of the union at many levels. For AUD, he
has always been a pillar of support, persuasive in urging various PEF-DEC
units to help us. Whatever he does from now on, or wherever he goes, you
can be sure he will be continuing his personal battle for social justice.
Our thanks to Mike and to all our friends at PEF/DEC. (10/05)
Note:
support for AUD is not for the faint of heart. The fact that a union or
its officers contributes to AUD offers no protection from articles reporting
on the struggles of members for greater democracy in that union, nor from
any other form of assistance that AUD provides to union members.
